Joe it's a classic low budget comedy with some surprisingly good life advice Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/22 Full Review Terry S So many of the scenes reminded me of people I had known and things I had experienced it was truly Deja Vu. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/24 Full Review matthias s Clerks is a cult classic that perfectly captures the mundane yet hilarious realities of working in retail. The film's low-budget aesthetic adds to its charm, and the clever writing and witty banter between the main characters, Dante and Randal, will have you laughing out loud. The performances by Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson are spot on, and the supporting cast is also great. Clerks is a must-see for anyone who has ever worked in retail or can relate to the struggles of being stuck in a dead-end job. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/09/23 Full Review Outer Splatter G I just love this movie for it's realism and being a very 90's movie. The performances are funny, iconic and memorable that this is one of best movies of the 90's. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/08/23 Full Review Augustine J One of the most iconic indie movies ever, this movie is like comfort food. It's dialogue is insanely quotable and its characters insanely memorable. Kevin Smith has a career because of this film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review Marc Z It's hard not to have a soft spot for a low budget movie, made for $26,000, that generated a dozen, or so, films and launched the film career of Kevin Smith. This low budget, realistic, comedic look at some convenience store Clerks in a suburban New Jersey town trying to navigate sexual relationships, coming of age, and figuring out what they want to do with their life. Considering the low budget the characters and the Direction are substantially better. The movie doesn't;t try to be something it is not. The strength is in the characters and the dialogue. This is an important piece of cinema, actually. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Peter Travers Rolling Stone Smith credits Richard Linklater's Slacker as inspiration. But Clerks supplies its own subversively witty take on Generation Next. Sep 23, 2020 Full Review Derek Malcolm Guardian It is one of those small-scale American independent movies that you either fall for or you don't, and one would confidently expect most of those fed up with big, empty, run-of-the-mill Hollywood epics to raise at least two cheers. Sep 23, 2020 Full Review Kenneth Turan Los Angeles Times "Clerks" is unapologetically rough and even ragged at times. But its lack of circumspection turns out to be its charm. Sep 23, 2020 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault "Clerks" doesn’t feel as if it’s trying too hard, and that’s its major charm. Rated: A- Aug 31, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Though the individual parts – such as a few solid jokes, outlandish characters, and an outrageous quandary – tend to be more memorable than the whole, this ultra low-budget, independent project is undeniably impressive. Rated: 7/10 Jul 11, 2022 Full Review David Gonzalez The Cinematic Reel After 22 years, Clerks remains a quintessential part of 90s independent cinema, and the start of the career of one of the most well-rounded directors and writers of this era, Kevin Smith.
