Canadian World War II veteran John Graham (Robert Preston) works in London as a code breaker. Tragedy strikes when his pregnant wife, Carol (Elizabeth Sellars), is accidentally run over by two crooks who are speeding away from the scene of a murder. Haunted, grieving and thirsting for revenge, Graham sets out to find the two fugitive murderers. When he does, he intends to kill them, the same way they killed Carol. But will that assuage his grief?

Blobbo X Impossible to like main character Preston. (Man, you'[ve got to learn to let it go!) Well acted time-passer - but not satisfying. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review Mark P This is a real gem. It is at once a dark noir film focused on revenge and a romantic drama focused on the values that sustained the West through WWII. Movies that mix elements haphazardly always leave me cold, but in this case everything is tied together by the skillfully crafted plot. The interaction between the protagonist and the inspector is reminiscent of Crime and Punishment. Highly recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review bill t just an okay War actioner about a coder who witnesses the murder of his wife by a hit-and-run, and his determination to get revenge on those people. It's interesting that the hero does catch the murderer, but then you realize that the film is just half over... So what happens now? It does turn on a pretty strange plot detour, and it ends unsatisfactorily. No Heroes here folks. Not really worth your time.
