Years ago Coconut Pete (Bill Paxton) had a hit record, but now he runs a tropical island resort where he spends his days basking in hedonism with the rest of the resort's offbeat staff. The paradise Coconut Pete presides over, however, becomes a living hell when an unknown killer begins slaughtering the staff. As the body count increases, so too does suspicion among the survivors. Now it's up to Coconut Pete and what's left of his staff to solve the mystery and stop the bloodshed.

Comedy is too hit-or-miss in this slasher spoof.

A thick, rich slab of American cheese. As bad-taste comedies go, this is more clever than gross... Go to Full Review

Even if it doesn't really succeed as a thriller or a comedy, the film isn't simply a hack-job either. Go to Full Review

The Broken Lizard quintet follows its quintessential cult-comedy classic "Super Troopers" with something like "Ten Little Indians" interpreted by five big imbeciles - a slasher parody three "Screams" and three "Scary Movies" too late. Go to Full Review

xpig332 B Oct 13 I love a good, stupid horror comedy, this one’s pretty lame! See more Tom F Oct 10 I think anyone giving this movie a bad review really just doesn't get it. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen. See more Jens B @Jens97 Aug 19 The title fits perfectly: Watching "Club Dread" is a dreadful chore. Yes, humor is subjective, but apart from a few visual gags, nothing here really clicked. And after a quite amusing opening, virtually nothing happens on the horror and parody levels either. To give an example: The film's running gag is that an Indian man (Jay Chandrasekhar) has dreadlocks and speaks perfect Oxford English. Wow. And that's how all the 'jokes' turn out: They have a nice idea, but nothing happens. To make matters worse, the film runs for two hours during which not much happens. Broken Lizard comes across as a group of aging college kids who see themselves as frivolous jokers, but their gags couldn't even knock my grandma off her feet. Everyone in front of and behind the camera probably had the best time, but that doesn't translate to the audience at all. Conclusion: boring, annoying, a lot of wasted potential – skip!
