Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Fernando Eimbcke nos muestra a través de Club Sandwich el doloroso sentir que algunos padres tienen al ver a sus hijos crecer. Desde el inicio vemos como Héctor y Paloma tienen una relación que podría definirse como especial. Eimbcke nos hace ver que, hijo y madre, se comportan como si fueran los mejores amigos en el mundo, sin embargo cuando llega Jazmín al hotel, todo su mundo parece desmoronarse en frente de ella. A través de unos bellísimos encuadres nos muestra como Paloma y Jazmín se disputan de manera sutil a Héctor, siempre dejándolo en medio. La película nos presenta de manera tierna cómo Paloma trata de ganarse de nuevo el cariño de su hijo, poniéndose ese traje de baño rojo que tanto odia ella (pero que a Héctor le gusta). A lo largo de la película podemos ver una serie de comportamientos que se repiten, como el "te quiero" que se dicen mutuamente antes de dormir, el juego de piedra-papel o tijeras, las frases "si haces pipí sube la tapa" y "no mojes el suelo", todo lo anterior desaparece cuando Jazmín entra en la vida de Héctor, como si se lo estuviera robando a su madre. Sin duda Eimbcke nunca decepciona en ninguno de sus trabajos, Club Sandwich es una película que tanto padres como jóvenes pueden sentirse identificados debido a las circunstancias tan reales que se proyectan y que estoy seguro que muchos de nosotros hemos vivido.
