Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A deliciously warped wallow in misogyny, depravity and dead-eyed manipulation, "Cold Fish" charts the twisted alliance of two tropical-fish salesmen with baleful glee. Rated: 4/5 Aug 4, 2011 Full Review Mark Olsen Village Voice Cold Fish is wild, head-turning, stomach-churning stuff, and it makes a bracing addition to the overstuffed canon of serial-killer cinema. Aug 2, 2011 Full Review Jaime N. Christley Slant Magazine Don't let me talk you out of it--after all, I'm no kibbitzer. Rated: 0/4 Jul 31, 2011 Full Review Justine Smith Vague Visages A slow-boil of escalating hatred, the film builds tension on the pulsing contempt growing inside of Syamoto. Jun 6, 2024 Full Review Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy What could have been one of the best and most disturbing thrillers of the year gets somewhat spoiled by a potentially vile subtext and a very mean-spirited finale where the film totally lost me. Jan 15, 2020 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Cold Fish" is one of Sono's masterpieces, a great combination of Japanese exploitation, outstanding acting and technical and artistic elaborateness. Alex C Loved this, inspired by true events. This movie is well paced, well acted and overall very well shot. I would recommend to anyone who enjoy long foreign films. The gore is great and violence is well acted. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review acsdoug D An original, quirky, wonderfully bizarre film. You'll stick around even if for no other reason to see what happens next. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/23 Full Review Gian P It all felt very pointless and redundant at the end. A lot of ways they could have gone with it after the big 'oh snap' moment but it ended up being kind of lame and useless. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a fun but unnecessarily long ride Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member You know you've got a good movie when it makes two and a half hours feel like 90 minutes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I just couldn't get into it, dislikeable characters and a serious lacking plot Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
