I really did not like the movie. it was basically the same song and dance we often see from Iranian filmmakers, feigned upset with no passion regarding the subject they cover. The only reason this is getting good reviews I suspect if that critics are usually propping up bad Iranian filmmakers for political reasons (without even understanding that they are more than often on very friendly terms with the regime). I say that as an Iranian woman myself. If they wanted to bringup injustices there are farfar worse but they are a direct result of the regime and it's interpretation of Islam so these regime friendly filmmakers would never make a movie about the real oppression and the actual injustices that are ongoing, most of them start in the womens own homes.

Well that was two hours of my life I'll never get back. Interesting for the first 15 minutes, good performances, but no story arc to speak of. The protagonist's problem is set up at the start, and then she just fights and fights and it's futile. There's no suspense, the cinematography is poor and the script is verbose and dull. If you want to learn more about women's rights (or lack of them) in Iran, fine. But ignore all the good reviews if you want to watch a decent film. I was bored rigid and half the audience fell asleep.
