In 1992 Bogota, a little girl watches crime lord Don Luis and his henchman Marco murder her parents. Fifteen years later, the now-grown Cataleya, who is named for a Colombian orchid, works as a contract killer for her Chicago-based uncle. The jittery action aesthetic is a bit grating (three cuts minimum per roundhouse kick), but the spectacularly named Olivier Megaton still manages to deliver the goods.

This was a hit for both of us. It’s sleek, stylish, and smart without falling into the usual femme fatale tropes. It’s also a rare revenge movie that doesn’t feel exploitative. Instead of bloodlust for bloodlust’s sake, Cataleya’s violence is a direct extension of her grief and control. Every shot fired is a scream from a childhood stolen and that’s what makes it stick.

This is garbage! Way too many cuts for the most basic 'action' moves, even running. This would/could have been better as a cartoon. That's how ridiculous it is

Least effort in any origin story. Its as if someone had an idea to use a flower as a female assasin's calling card & basically stopped there. I will say the set pieces were nice.
