Stellar performances and gripping subject matter help Confirmation overcome production values that occasionally feel as dated as the infamous real-life case it covers.

Dani McClain Bitch Media The beauty of Confirmation, which premiered on HBO on April 16, is that it posits that this confused reception on the part of the American people was precisely what many who sat on the Senate judiciary committee and directed the hearings had in mind. Feb 10, 2021 Full Review Eric Deggans NPR "Confirmation" soars when it shows how badly a group of middle-aged white male senators fumbled the race and gender issues raised by Hill's allegations. Michael W This HBO movie was really good. Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce, Greg Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Grace Gummer, Zoe Lister-Jones, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. This true story about Anita Hill's allegations against Supreme Court judge Clarence Thomas was dramatic, inspirational, and tragic. It's about fighting against an evil man with power and doing what is right. Anita Hill is a very courageous person willing to do anything to get the truth out and a true American. She should be recognized for her efforts to take down Clarence Thomas, a man with no shame, remorse, or respect. All he cared about was his reputation and winning at all costs, even if it means perjuring himself. He's a disgrace to society and never should've been elected to the Supreme Court. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a definite must see. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review steve d It is a powerful story we refuse to learn from. Great acting from Washington. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Its great if you like a based on a true story but with emotional drama, its not bad. Its damn near what's going on with Brett Kavanaugn's confirmation right now. Its a bit dramatic at times but it fits with the scene of the event. But it is a good movie! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Powerful. Brave. Infuriating. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review J F It seems like every sexual harassment case in the last 30 years have multiple women come forward after someone accuses a co-worker of sexual harassment. Sexual harassers should be punished at work and/or criminally prosecuted depending on the ability to verify what happened is true. Senator Bob Packwood, Senator Mark Foley, Bill O'Reilly, President Bill Clinton, even rapist Bill Cosby all something in common (as have every public accusation of sexual harassment) - there's always multiple accusers. Real sexual harassers never have just one victim. But in this case there was only one, nobody else testified, and others didn't come forward in all these years.
