Synopsis
A valiant knight, Nathan Le Cerf (Sami Frey), is disgraced and forced to flee for his life after he kills a man in a duel and his execution is ordered by Count Anchire (Mathieu Carrière). Although injured in the duel, Le Cerf manages to survive in the woods and find sanctuary there. He eventually becomes romantically involved with Marthe de Lairac (Caroline Sihol), a noblewoman who nurses him back to health. Their relationship is intense, and she helps Le Cerf prepare for revenge.
