Simon Foster sbs.com.au So much of this Australian caged-man flick is derivative of the 'Grey Bar Hotel' genre that it's less a film about prison life than it is about prison films. But...Convict is a pretty good one. Jan 28, 2014 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile Clearly with something to say, George Basha returns to themes he wrote about so sharply in his 2009 debut feature, The Combination: the cultural and personal conflicts that are magnified through the prism of prison and crime Jan 17, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

JJ S This was the best movie I've seen in a long time. Not sure how it gets a 28 score...baffled. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review Ian R George Basha is a highly talented actor/writer/producer who grew up in the same city as I did. (Sydney, Australia). I hoped for so much more than this film delivered. Just another innocent man in prison film who is subjected to racial abuse, homosexual rape and corrupt prison administration. Not worth watching. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Great flick! Good story and action. Really had me glued from start to finish and IÂ’m a critic. Not sure why the bad reviews, obviously lower budget but great score and cinematography as such. Gritty film worth a watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good make up. It made Donald Sutherland and Sylvester Stallone look almost unrecognisable this remake of Locked Up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_Up_(film). Excellent work also from Sutherland and Stallone in getting the Australian accent down pat for the Australian setting of the new remake. Whoops, I just realised that it wasn't supposed to be a remake of "Locked Up". Must have just been a coincidence that the story lines were close to identical. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member For a lower budget film they did a great job. Is well worth a view as is so much more realistic than other movies based around a prison environment. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member In true Australian film style, the baddies get their comeuppance. It's an ok film though.
