Critics Consensus

A horror-comedy without enough of either, Cooties is fatally content to skate by on its intriguingly oddball premise.

Chris Nashawaty Entertainment Weekly I honestly have no clue who this film is for. Whoever they are, they're likely to walk out of the theater wanting a refund. Rated: C- Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com A midnight movie for those fine with dozing off about twenty minutes in, once the charm of its single sentence log-line has worn off. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Barry Hertz Globe and Mail While directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion want to have their laughs and horror, too, the film is something of a zombie itself: half-alive and bloody, but lacking any heart. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies It doesn’t commit enough to make the premise pop and ends up reaching for jokes and sinking into bad taste. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 2, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Extreme gore and a silly sense of humor combine into an often funny but ultimately forgettable experience. Rated: 2.5/4 May 27, 2022 Full Review Travis Johnson sbs.com.au People straight up react badly when you kill kids. Oct 24, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Emilliano Jr S An enjoyable comedy horror. Sometimes you just need to lower down your expectations to enjoy Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Gregory T Quite possibly the most ridiculous zombie comedy movie I've ever seen. I loved it. The ending was rather sudden, but that's the only issue I had with the movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Matthew B Not as awful as people let on but there are 100% better options when it comes to zombie movies. This film attempts to be a zombie-comedy, with the protagonists being stuck in a school overrun by infected children. The humor falls flat 99.9% of the time and you'll find yourself wishing you were watching Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland instead quite honestly. But with all that being said, it kept my attention and I enjoyed it far more than the awful "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse". Also, it's always a pleasure to see Rainn Wilson in anything. Love that guy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review koda s It's SO TERRIBLE in the best way. if you're looking for high quality go somewhere else in terms of movies. If you wanna watch something gory and super unserious and full of Goofy plot holes **this** is gonna be your movie. it's so so bad in the best way in my opinion. I will forever love this abominational excuse for a film ♡ Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Michael P A pointless movie that kept me entrained until the end. The ending was too much for this unserious film and the love story here is a confusing puzzle. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Dani G How is that Frodo and Harry get involved so often in these weird projects? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
