      Critics Consensus

A horror-comedy without enough of either, Cooties is fatally content to skate by on its intriguingly oddball premise.

Matthew M Not usually a huge horror fan, but this was *fun*. Pretty standard zombie fare in an entertaining setting. Not life altering, but I mean... if you're looking for a zombie movie, do you *not* want a standard zombie movie? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Dallas H Does anyone know if this movie was turned into a video game? It's a horror comedy that was fun to watch. And did I see it correctly that Hayden "Darth Vader" Christensen is an executive producer on this movie? Wow, unexpected, but interesting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Noah G I hate this movie way more than IT. Are the makers of this movie trying to scare parents and make them teach their kids to do the wrong thing and curse at them as well. I want this movie banned around the world. and never be heard about again. I can't even eat food because of you horrible movie makers this movie is the worst Horrorr movie ever and should be taken off MAX and should be bought for so much money that people can't watch it because it sucks so bad. Nothing funny worst movie ever. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Sr Lirex S Cooties is Bad but Very Entertaining to Pass the Time Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/23 Full Review RavenPoe A Just overall not good. It did have a few funny moments. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/01/23 Full Review Clark M Beautiful movie, would recommend and watch again. Did NOT regret staying up till midnight watching it. Chris Nashawaty Entertainment Weekly I honestly have no clue who this film is for. Whoever they are, they're likely to walk out of the theater wanting a refund. Rated: C- Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com A midnight movie for those fine with dozing off about twenty minutes in, once the charm of its single sentence log-line has worn off. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Barry Hertz Globe and Mail While directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion want to have their laughs and horror, too, the film is something of a zombie itself: half-alive and bloody, but lacking any heart. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 18, 2015 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies It doesn’t commit enough to make the premise pop and ends up reaching for jokes and sinking into bad taste. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 2, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Extreme gore and a silly sense of humor combine into an often funny but ultimately forgettable experience. Rated: 2.5/4 May 27, 2022 Full Review Travis Johnson sbs.com.au People straight up react badly when you kill kids. Oct 24, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
