03/17/2011 An amusing tale of growing up...as a Soviet supporter in cold war Italy. Genuinely funny and touching. See more 09/24/2010 This is a wonderfully simplistic film that intertwines change and revolution with a realistic coming of age story. Flawlessly this movie brings together the story of a young girl venturing into womanhood and the revolution that was the communist regime that split the Italian people. The film is strong in its anti-faciast beliefs and this will no doubt rub some Westerners the wrong way, but having the mildest of beliefs in communsim myself, I found the film politically refreshing. The movie also intricately weaves the developments off the great Soviet-American space race into its plot and in doing so reminds the audience just how far the world has come in terms of technology in such a short amount of time. I think at this point in is pretty obvious that I really enjoyed this movie and am sure that most patrons of fine film would agree. Those of you who prefer mainstream film and do not have a true appreciation for the more subtle, simplistic and refined film may find the film somewhat dry. Tuttavia, efficace il rapporto figura-sfondo tra comunismo e adolescenza, con un alternarsi fittizio del focus, lì dove i turbamenti dell'età di mezzo possono solo essere appena coperti da quelli dell'impegno politico.
