Audience Member It may be a cultural difference, but I've never been much of a fan of kung-fu comedies and rarely find them funny. Although Jackie Chan comedies are irresistible, most Hong Kong martial arts comedies make The Three Stooges seem like comparatively droll comedies. The story here, such as it is, revolves around a delivery boy who runs afoul the local crime boss, but then learns kung-fu from a drunken old cook. There was plenty of fighting in this ilm featuring a bunch of actors who I wasn't familiar with outside of Wah Yuen and those fights are the films only saving grace. The fights are decent, but nothing mind blowing, although the humor pales in comparison to the Jackie Chan martial arts comedies coming out at this same time. Still, it's better than your average episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger." Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
