Audience Member Such an inspiring movie! I'm still leary of many on Craigslist, but this guy had an amazing experience and it put a smile on my face! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't get why Rotten Tomatoes hated it so much, it is a bit short on delving into anything deep but I don't think that is what the point was, it was a challenge to live off the website for 30 days. Enjoyable enough. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting doco about Craigslist. However Craigslist is not so big in Australia. In fact I've never use it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This was actually better than I thought it might be. The main character comes across a whole group of interesting folks who are willing to extend him help in some form or fashion. Of course, he picked December for his month of existing off Craigslist, so he sort of set himself up well since that month tends to be a time of giving. But a neat film all-in-all. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting, but patchy. The most moving part for me was the ex-actress with cancer and hoarding tendencies. I wasn't really surprised by the results here. He did have a camera following him, so of course people would feel more comfortable helping him out. I think it might be extremely different for the actual homeless out there to acquire accomodation/lifts/meals etc. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting idea. Liked that he was able to show the generosity of people. Lots of helpful people, albeit a fairly consistent quirkiness about most of the Craigslist users. Aside from the awkward moments where he hits dead-ends at the end of the night and seems like a sad puppy dog outside an establishment... it is a pretty positive film. Scott Tobias AV Club It's an inspiring experience. For him. Rated: C- Aug 9, 2012 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety The briskly edited docu seldom stops long enough to let Joe's new friends (identified only by first name) make anything beyond the most superficial impressions. Aug 3, 2012 Full Review Ernest Hardy Village Voice Craigslist Joe is sweet, moving, and frustrating. Jul 31, 2012 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Craigslist Joe is not just an interesting "experiment" and well told documentary, but a telling look at human nature and the fundamental goodness within us all. Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com A generally agreeable but perhaps hopelessly meandering nonfiction snapshot of one guy's attempt to hit the road for 31 days and live off the alms of America's new, digital age thrift store.
