Walking through the woods, friends Matt (Jason Saucier) and Josie (Mary Sellers) come across a corpse. The woman clearly died an unnatural death, but the authorities can't determine exactly what killed her. The investigation soon centers on a local industrial plant that uses the woods as a trash heap for dangerous chemical waste. It becomes clear that the plant's practices have contaminated the trees, turning them into murderous organisms. A bit of logging might be in order.

Audience Member There are badly made horror films, but this one is in that category of "Troll 2" where it's not just badly made but amateurishly made. This film was directed by veteran schlock director Joe D'Amato ("Anthropophagus" and "Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals") so he's not exactly Dario Argento or even a Bruno Mattei. Still he's not completely incompetent, but this film I think was mostly hampered by some of the most embarrassingly bad acting I've ever seen in a film. It's clear that most of the people in this film had never acted before and when you pair that with embarrassingly bad dialogue ("I don't believe you kids. I think you went out into the woods and snorted something you got from the big city.") you have a formula for just a terrible movie. However, this film is so awful that it can be enjoyed ironically, so that saves this film from a 1/2 star review. Oh, and the story here involved plans tainted by toxic waste, which then turn into man killing crazed plants. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Nuclear waste dumped from the local power plant turns trees into forest killers amidst a vast cover up by operators and local authorities. Unconvincingly acted for the most part and contains little gore but otherwise passable. Community efforts to remove toxic waste barrels may have required more safety precautions. Film was desperately released under several different titles. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member something is alive in the woods and it's just not that scary.
