Audience Member A must see. Such a tragedy in our world Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know if i will be able to see this again. It's a very difficult movie to watch. Syrian and Russian president deserve all the worst to come for them in a future. Highly recommended to watch only if you're ready to watch really tough scenes of war. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member HBO thanks for sharing this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Death to Putin & Assad. Goddamn them all to hell. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This film should be mandatory viewing for all government officials! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Although I was generally aware of the problems in Syria, it's hard to comprehend if you merely see 15 seconds of footage on the news. This powerful movie provides a chronological history of the brutal atrocities inflicted on innocent people, most of them children and women. Torturing teens, bombing schools, raping women and men is tough to grasp...the amount of footage showing some of this and the hundreds of dead children will move everyone brave enough to sit through it. Mar 13, 2017 Full Review Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe It provides historical context, tracking the conflict from the Arab Spring to the confrontations between resistance groups and President Bashar al-Assad's army, all leading to the massive exodus of refugees. Mar 13, 2017 Full Review Dorothy Rabinowitz Wall Street Journal Cries From Syria is an eloquent, agitating and profoundly moving chronicle of that war and its participants. Mar 10, 2017 Full Review Christopher Campbell Thrillist The best of the year's Syria documentaries, the film thoroughly chronicles the situation from revolution to civil war and the refugee migration. Feb 9, 2018 Full Review Sr. Rose Pacatte National Catholic Reporter Set your DVR or watch "Cries from Syria" when it is broadcast tonight. The conflict may be complicated, but the brutality and gore of the killings of hundreds of thousands for the sake of one man, Assad, while the world watches, is not. Jun 12, 2017 Full Review Daniel Palmer Film Inquiry Cries from Syria is one of the most cogent attempts to dispel the poisonous myths being promulgated in certain sections of the media with regard to refugees.
