Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant Sommer's adaptation of his own novella slows to a crawl as it unwinds its slender thread of plot. Despite a touching performance by Hawn -- and an impressive acting bow by David Arnott as her son, not much happens after [the] involving exposition. ashley h CrissCross is an okay film. It is about a 12-year-old boy who comes of age in 1969 Key West against the backdrop of the Apollo moon landing. Goldie Hawn and Arliss Howard give decent performances. The script is a little slow in places. Chris Menges did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review s r It started good, then got cheap in its plot. Saw on TCM. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is just a somewhat bland coming of age movie. I felt there was enough solid story that held my interest. I don't think the movie was as bad as its current ratings. One thing that throws the story out of alignment, for a brief break of laughter; is Goldie Hawns pole dancing! It was pretty horrible, not very realistic. Also the narration maybe shouldn't have been told by the boy, but probably a recollection from a young man. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Pleasant little pix. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Waitress turns to stripping to make more money for son and herself. Son turns to cocaine sales to make more money for he and his mother. 1969 Florida. Some good moments and some flat spots.
