Shadowman4710 Somewhat dated by today's standards but it's a silly and fun caper film towards the end of that genre's heyday. Telly Savalas is great as always as the small time hood with delusions of grandeur and as usual Dame Edith Evans steals every scene she's in. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Audience Member This whimsical comedy is not well known, but I like it. Two crooks come to an English stately home with the intention of robbing the owner (eccentric Edith Evans), and instead, finding her impoverished, help her and her grandson (Nicky Henson) to help them make more money by improving the home, visitor facilities etc. Then some other crooks turn up and want to spoil everything. There are delightful cameos by Hattie Jacques and Clive Dunn as a bemused camping couple who get caught up in the battle of the crooks. It's great fun.
