Jens B 😴 Well, that was a total flop... 🪢 When a nearly naked, muscular young man is writhing on a table, tied up, you instantly know: Ah, David DeCoteau was involved here, and the so-called female director is just a pseudonym! 🤔 Beyond that, the film offers absolutely no added value. The puppets are recycled from previous installments (amazing how the backgrounds of the puppet shots don’t match the sets they’re supposed to be in), the story is utterly trivial and has nothing to do with Puppet Master. Torchie is missing yet again (except in the credits), and just when the plot seems to pick up a little after 70 uneventful minutes, the credits roll. The two puppet kills are bloody but meaningless. 👀 You can watch it if you’re a die-hard completist of the series, but not while sober. Thankfully, the next installment is a best-of compilation from previous films. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review R P I'm torn on Curse of the Puppet Master. It's directed by David DeCoteau (the man who loves to have men shirtless or half naked) and I like him. But I don't like the fact that most of the scenes with the puppets are recycled from previous movies. I liked the fact we have at least a small glimpse of Leech Woman. But no Torch or Decapitron. This is the last movie, I believe, before we start going down hill with the films being mostly clips shows. They don't explain how the puppets got to where they are, what happened to RIck Torch and Deciaptorn or who Dr. Magrew is. Add-in characters who range from either annoying or dull, and a plot ripped off from b movie classic SSSSS, and bad puppet effects and you get the 2nd worst movie connected to the franchise. The only redeeming quality was the kills and even then their not worth sitting through this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member 1 star for this Puppet Master movie, I only seen it once and once is enough. This one strays away from B. Bay inn and takes place in the country. Slow and the puppets really didn't play a huge role in this movie till right about at the end. It was more about the young girl, her dad, her boyfriend and a bunch of bullies. Really flipped the script and went away from the story line, a bit dated. Not to much to say about this one low budget and nothing like the rest of the Puppet Master movies. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member What a stinker! Avoid if you can It plays no part in the actual storyline of Puppet Master any way. The ONLY good part of this movie was the opening credits displaying the puppets from all the OTHER movies with that nice theme music. It was all downhill once the movie started. Puppets featured: Blade, Tunneler, Six Shooter, Leech Woman, Pinhead and Jester. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Worst of the bunch. I at least had fun making fun of the previous ones... But the writing for this one was just terrible... Like not even worthy of B-movie rating.
