Sadly, Custody is the second straight movie (after the disappointing Manmadha Leelai) that feels like Prabhu is losing that fun factor. Maanadu was amazing, and it is a tall task to try and top or reach that level of fun. But, this feels too formulaic and average, even for a director like Prabhu who usually tries his best to deviate from the norm in commercial cinema. The problem here is that Custody just feels dry and dull, and once Arvind Swamy appears, the movie gets going, but only slightly. Disappointing overall.
