Malkovich impresses as the soft-spoken centre around which the escalating troubles revolve, while the heavyweight supporting cast features good work from Billy Bob Thornton... and Oliver Platt as a fast-talking postal executive from the big city. Tony G Aug 26 what a waste of time. Good case but with horrible dialog, story and directing. At times I thought they were trying to inject subtle humor but it was so bad I wasn't even sure of that. See more Robson C 07/02/2024 Na pequena cidade de Cut Bank, em Montana, um jovem está gravando um vídeo com sua namorada quanto ele filma e testemunha o assassinato do carteiro da cidade, Georgie Wits. A partir daí, inicia-se uma investigação e outras mortes vão acontecendo. A estrutura do filme lembra um film noir, só que em vez de ser filmado à noite, como os clássicos, tudo acontece ao ar livre e de dia. O roteiro força um pouco ao criar o personagem de Derby Milton, como um psicopata, Talvez o outro deslize seja o casal principal. Liam Hemsworth e Teresa Palmer não tem o carisma necessário e Liam chega a ser inexpressivo várias vezes. Por outro lado, o elenco mais veterano aproveita tudo o que o roteiro oferece, mesmo que não seja muito. Malkovich, Thornton e, principalmente, Bruce Dern fazem o filme crescer quando surgem na tela. Pena que o roteiro não os desenvolva tanto. O outro destaque é Michael Stuhlbarg que consegue ao mesmo tempo passar a situação de incômodo que ele causa, como a de medo.
