Billy T Kind of a mad max spiritual successor. Definitely clearly in the B movie category, but retains the 80s charm. Enjoyable when you're in the mood for a ridiculous B movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The 3rd of four films that make up the Cyborg franchise is a woeful film with no redeeming features. The first featured Van Damme, the second Angelina Jolie and this one features Malcolm McDowell for about 8 minutes clearly paying a tax bill. The character of Cash, played by Jolie in the previous entry, is on a journey to the free town of Cytown(!) to avoid being used for spare parts and just happens to be pregnant! Nature clearly found a way! Utter drivel that would be followed 19 years later by a prequel to the first film called Cyborg Nemesis and would feature Steven Seagal. A horse is clearly being flogged somewhere. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Cyborg was pretty cheap crud, so I honestly don't know why I watched Cyborg 3: The Recycler. But I did, even though it didn't have Jean-Claude Van Damme from Cyborg or Angelina Jolie from Cyborg 2. I didn't expect to enjoy Cyborg 3: The Recycler but hoped that maybe it would have some decent action for a low-budget direct-to-video sequel to a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie. The visual and audio quality in Cybord 3: The Recycler is very rough, but that's too be expected due to the low-budget nature of the film's production. And although I can't say it was a good film, to a certain extent I enjoyed Cyborg 3: The Recycler. It reminded me of the low budget science fiction exploitation flicks from the 1970's the Roger Corman was known to have made and used many of the same ideas and concepts on a very low budget. So from that perspective, Cyborg 3: The Recycler was some direct-to-video campy science fiction fun, and after the inconsistent pacing of the first hour I found it to have some entertaining action when it hit its climax since there was plenty of explosions and gunfire which make the scene appealing. And for such a low budgeted film, the production design and props were fairly convincing of the post-apocalyptic universe even though it was all set on such a small scale. It was actually surprising, and considering the production of the film on such a low budget for the video market, it was surprisingly decent. The film overstated how much Malcolm McDowell would appear in Cyborg 3: The Recycler since he has merely a few seconds of screen time, so that's a bit of a dick move. But he was alright, as were Zach Galligan and Khrystyne Haje. Andrew Bryniarski was also a pretty decent action hero who had a stature reminiscent of Chuck Norris in his prime, and his half assed line delivery was pretty funny as well. And some of the moments in Cyborg 3: The Recycler are pretty laughable due to their poor quality, such as when a man with artificial hands pretends to be playing the piano and you can so obviously see that its just music playing and not his skill at all. So really, Cyborg 3: The Recycler is enjoyable as low-budget direct-to-video fun with a decent atmosphere and some cheap yet effective action which makes it a half decent film, at least by the standard of its production. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Frances H Where do washed up one-movie stars and and one series TV stars go? To direct to video movie hell. The plot, acting, and horrendous music would make a great Mystery Science Theater program, but not good for much else, like watching for enjoyment all by itself. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/13 Full Review Audience Member What the hell? Cyborg 3 isn't supposed to be better than parts 1 and 2... but it is. Ditching the cyber-punk setting of part two, the movie returns to the dusty post apocalyptic world of the original and yet it continues the storyline of the second (weird). The age of man and cyborgs co-existing is over and cyborgs find themselves outcast, hunted for their parts. The movie follows a villainous character known as The Recycler and he discovers that the fembot from the previous movie has become pregnant with a human child. This is the first pregnancy of its kind which threatens mankind but gives hope to the borgkind. Its far fetched but I was really surprised at how decent the movie actually is. It's shot well and has some really good performances. Richard Lynch plays the Recycler and he, as always, does a great job. Malcolm McDowell does his usual thing, albeit an unnecessary character but best of all is Zach Galligan (from Gremlins). He plays a reclusive designer, renowned for his work with cyborg technology... its a shame Galligan has been reduced to this sort of b-movie because he has a fantastic screen presence that deserves more attention. Anyhow, again I doubt anyone will rush out to see Cyborg 3 but where I recommended part 2 if you were to find it on sale for $1, I would jack up the worth of this one and recommend paying at least $3!! LOL Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite it's cheap look the movie is actually pretty entertaining. Richard Lynch is a great likeable villain and the movie ends on an impressive battle-scene for such a low budget film. Not the most polished movie but worth a watch if you're bored.
