Audience Member Goofy beat characters that are sometimes too annoying. The plot line is a bit typical, but different. Nothing fits together properly, and rarely coherent. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A campy little film about a dude called "Daddy-O" who wouldn't stop singing and got himself into troubles with gangsters. The few cheesy musical numbers could not save the laughable dialogues and and disastrous acting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Daddy-O (aka Downbeat, aka Out on Probation) is another in a long line of movies made in the 50's about youth gone wild. In this instance, an innocent girl is held as an accomplice along with a trio of misbehaving teenagers and is sent away to juvenile hall. The trouble is that they don't quite make it there, and trouble ensues when they begin to kidnap an old couple and hide out from the police. Not only is the movie not good, but for my own personal tastes, I just don't like these types of movies. I think they're quite repugnant and serve no real purpose other than to attempt to inform adults about the "dangers" of teenagers with freedom and to warn teenagers not to tamper with bad things. That's about it. There's no one really notable in the cast either. The movie was featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, but even with their antics, this movie is still an absolute chore to sit through. Easily skippable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredibly boring movie. Even the MST3K isn't very good. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member DADDY-"O" [1958]: A mildly amusing 1950's dud which sees a truck driver/singer turned detective with a blonde bombshell, has to hunt down his friends killer. 50% Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
