Vin E This is very well made and delightfully creepy! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Intriguing suspense thriller, made just a few years before Roe vs Wade, exposes the misogyny which lies beneath our glorification of motherhood. Carol White's performance as a young Englishwoman whose American dream turns into a nightmare seems to mirror her own downward spiral in Hollywood. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member WRITTEN BY LARRY COHEN! What more do you need? This movie is way better than you'd think it would be. Even at the very end when it goes more than a little Hollywood. That people hold one Robert Wise as better than Mark Robson when it comes to the Val Lewton directors is utterly insane. John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) As in 'The Seventh Victim,' 'Valley of the Dolls' and 'Earthquake,' director Mark Robson here suggests that the untreated festering anxieties of modern sophisticated society may erupt in dangerous, traumatic even explosive ways.
