08/08/2009 Director Su Friedrich turns Catholicism on it's ear in this telling of a nun coming to terms with her repressed sexuality. Avant-garde films often have very limited appeal and this one is certainly no exception. Friedrich's use of religious iconography and frank lesbian overtones will no doubt be offensive to some, but her honest and unpretentious approach shows a complete lack of malicious intent. I found the whole thing provocative, sensual and courageous. See more 02/10/2008 The inclusion of sequences from Black Narcissus alone is worth seeing this for.
