Audience Member The reason why i like this movie is that i can watch Edison Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A cute, funny movie. Sometimes ridiculous, it still has a good heart. Not a spectacular movie, but certainly not horrible. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member As Dance of a Dream marks Anita Mui's second-to-last film before she succumbed so quickly to cervical cancer, I had been putting off watching it because I was really saddened by how fast her death happened, both for personal reasons and as a fan. I was visiting Hong Kong for the first time when this was released in theatres, but I never got to see it, and had been planning to see it on DVD/VCD for quite some time. Finally got around to it, and it's a fun little feel-good dance movie, not with much heavy substance but a cute premise revolving around money vs. passion. The real story here, of course, is the chemistry between Andy Lau and Anita Mui -- which is just electric on the screen here. They're both great dancers, so it was really a joy to watch them together. Sandra Ng is fantastic, as always, and Edison Chen's in this movie for who-knows-what reason; I presume to bring in a younger audience at the time of its release. He just smirks throughout, and then has a brutal "Merry Christmas everybody!" line that makes Mike Tyson look literate. Anyway, when Anita died, I came across this article from the Straits Times, and it really struck a chord with me. You can still find it archived on the wayback machine at www.archive.org -- original link was http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/life/story/0,4386,227836,00.html. "SHE did not die in the arms of the man she loved, but she came close enough. Andy Lau was holding Anita Mui's hands as she lay in her bed at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital on Tuesday morning. 'Go with your heart at ease,' he told her." Sorely missed; she really brought her own brand of charisma to the screen and the stage. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Andy Lau dance well in this movie...he is very handsome...it is pity, Anita Mui was death... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Andy Lau dances well in the movie. And Sandra Ng finally got the chance to be the girlfriend of Andy after so many years in the movie industry. Anita Mui also have quite a good acting. Enjoyable movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Confusing at times, slow paced, all around unlikeable characters and just overall a bad film.
