Deke P 1945!! ZACHARY SCOTT!!, x-Olympian BRUCE BENNETT !, & a Stenographer! Interesting. Film noir. Giving it RT 3 1/2 stars, 'Good, I rec!' Saw last part again, on The Movie Channel. 1-26-23. Note to self: It's been so long since I saw it, I need to watch it all again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A good film noir about treachery and broken hearts. Zachery Smith is great as a sinister psychopath. His character is a mix of an Uncle Charley from Shadow of A Doubt and the character he played in Mildred Pierce, Monte Beragon. This was the first Faye Emerson film I'd ever seen and I've loved her ever since. Excellently shot by the great James Wong Howe, the film's only blemish is the hasty ending that's untrue, and unfitting, to the source material. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member In this minor noir ole Zachary's up to his usual no good but it's efficiently made and competently acted. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member a hollywood study of a psychopath Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Now when I visualize my father as a young man, I see Zachary Scott. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Actually a quite remarkable little Hitchcockian melodrama. A smart, terse script expertly directed by Robert Florey and featuring strong, earnest performances, including Zachary Scott at his sneering best. An underrated, unjustly forgotten classic.
