jelisije j Overall not the greatest acting, but at least this movie didn't go for the predictable hollywood ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This one was loaded with potential but loaded with flaws also. The accident is second rate. The story is interesting and has seen great dramatic arcs but falls short. It passes time but is never what it can be. Yakuza dramas are always compelling and this one is no exception. Perhaps making the US instead of Japan the center of the story was a mistake. Armand Assante, a former great screen presence, is the weakest sport in this one. There is plenty of fighting and action but the martial arts action is shot mostly in "shaky cam" and is not the best fight choreography for sure. "Kate" has many similarities to this film but is executed in a much better style. There is a heart and nobility to the film that does get it from a two star to 2.5 stars. There is nudity and graphic violence in it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A cheap American Yakuza knockoff. All of the fight sequences are shot with ultra fast cut-takes and mistimed slow-motion. If anything, it will cause an epileptic seizure. The characters are all caricatures of roles found in far better movies of the same genre. Likewise, virtually all of the plot points are taken from the genres well made examples. Armand Assante must have been hard up for a pay check. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member It was too unbelievable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review mauro l Scarce dark comic in name and in fact that takes itself too seriously with revenge. (Mauro Lanari) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Delightfully violent and a good story. Excellent action sequences. Confidently directed with a believable lead actor.
