This movie is that movie! (The one they're watching in the movie.) It even had an awesome 80's score. The only thing is these characters have cell phones. And there's not gratuitous nudity. Otherwise... if you loved campy 80's slasher movies, you will love Dark Forest. Good times! It reminds me of horror films from the '80s. It doesn't take itself too seriously and pays tribute to the old films with promiscuous couples and gnarly over-the-top kills. Fun movie in the genre. Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Dark Forest is a slasher flick about a group of friends who go on a camping trip deep in the woods when one by one they start getting killed. The film is definitely a throwback to old school horror movies and I appreciated little stylistic choices like having a grainy film stock look to emulate those films of the 70s and 80s. Dark Forest is an indie horror film and, being that it is an homage to those older horror films, is full of promiscuous young couples, bikini clad women, and over-the-top bloody kills. I had a lot of fun watching this film and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates a throwback indie horror movie.
