Katelyn Nelson Daily Grindhouse Audiences should proceed with a bit of caution, perhaps, as it is done so effectively as to be potentially triggering to some, but it is also a testament to the strength of Berkley Brady’s ability that such a powerful and immersive work is her debut... Aug 4, 2024 Full Review Rachel West AWFJ.org Clocking in at less than 90 minutes, Dark Nature never feels rushed. Though certain aspects may come across as underdeveloped at times (namely some of the women’s backstories), the story is held together by a strong female ensemble. Aug 29, 2023 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a completely misguided endeavor that might’ve fared better as a short film (but even that seems unlikely). Rated: 1/4 May 20, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews I was too bored by its shallow search for answers to care what happens. Rated: C+ May 20, 2023 Full Review Marie Saadeh Exclaim! Though the film shows some promise for Brady's future work, Dark Nature's attempts to make an affecting exploration of trauma — or at the very least give us a good scare — leave much to be desired. Rated: 5/10 May 18, 2023 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online It’s an agreeable enough thriller that has unwisely cribbed from a beloved modern genre staple and simply can’t measure up to its predecessor. Jeffrey P Feels like a rip-off of Annihilation , only with far less substance, less sharpness, and less detail. The mystery and suspense are okay for what it is, but too vague with an ending that does not explain. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Master S media literacy is dead. shallow attempt at foreshadowing that spoon feeds audience until its finally forced to get sick of it; horrible acting and dialogue, plot feels underdeveloped and shows a clear lack of understanding of trauma. nothing is left to the audience that hasn’t been driven into the ground. unlikeable characters all around. overall tough to get through. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/24 Full Review Dinos K very good movie with great plot and perfect performances Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/17/24 Full Review Levi R (Spoiler) Guy shoots the dog within the first 5 minutes. Sorry but if you have to shoot a dog to establish "bad guy" then you as a writer and director are doing a bad job. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review dave d This is one of those horror features that has bad acting and makes no sense. It is up it's own behind so far it's better than horrible, but only in an embarrassing way. What is this monster? Is it real? Why would anyone hike with strangers into places like this? Why was this film made? More shallow than an empty kiddy pool, there is very little coherence. It is not a good film. Final Score: 1.6/10 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/30/23 Full Review Kathryn9 S Terrible waste of time. Rips off The Descent. NOTHING happens for first 70 minutes of a 90 minute movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
