Katie Marro is on the verge of becoming a movie star when her plans are brutally interrupted. While driving home to her small hometown, she is involved in a fatal car crash in which she is the only survivor. Alicia Gazzarra, a local reporter at the Hammonton Herald, begins to write an article about the accident and the deceased passengers: a retired Army intelligence officer, an heir to a pharmaceutical fortune, and a self-confessed serial killer. As Alicia begins to investigate why these seemingly unconnected people would be together in the same car, a complicated picture begins to emerge. Eventually, Alicia uncovers connections deeper and more sinister than anyone in her small town could imagine. When events begin to turn deadly, Alicia must choose between helping Katie expose the truth or accepting the possibility that the world is ruled by a global network of ruthless insiders that is determined to wield power over all of mankind in a coming DARK STATE.

Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I have no idea what was going on in this movie, but it's just terrible. Mar 22, 2021 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle That might be your cup of Bilderbergian-flavored hydroxychloroquine paranoiac politics but I found it to be yet another depressing reminder of how far we've fallen. Mar 18, 2021 Full Review Andy Klein FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A very amateurish film and basically a QAnon fantasy. Mar 22, 2021 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat Dark State is a film with something interesting to say about the world around us and questions who is really in charge and what a person has to give up or compromise to fulfill that American Dream. Audience Member Cool paranoid indie flick. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/21 Full Review Audience Member The story is not bad, the actors are not bad. Buts its a cheap production It needed time and money to make it cinematic. The photography is lacking. The sound and sound design is not up to par. The direction looks hurried. Man get real money and do this right. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I’ve seen bad movies but this makes Plan 9 from Outer Space look like 1917. Clearly shot on an iPhone — much of it is not even in focus. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/21 Full Review Read all reviews
