Music professor and cellist Gerard (Jean-Hugues Anglade) is on a road trip when he's involved in a car accident and ends up under the care of a nurse, Megan (Connie Nielsen). As their friendship evolves, she invites him to meet her strange sister, Dominique (Mia Kirshner), and father, Robert (Frank Langella). After Robert's death, the sisters convince Gerard to drive them to Seattle. But, when the trip turns into a murderous rampage, Gerard finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
