Noel Murray The Dissolve Dark Touch is meant to touch a nerve, not merely spook. It's about deeper fears, and realer monsters. Rated: 3/5 Sep 30, 2013 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Wielding his camera with jumpy precision, Mr. Conroy infuses even chaotic motion with stabilizing elegance. Rated: 4/5 Sep 26, 2013 Full Review Alan Scherstuhl Village Voice For all its soaring cutlery, Dark Touch, like much of the best horror, works the fears that connect to real life. Apr 24, 2013 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Unfortunately, the film will have you recall Carrie more than it will draw you into its own narrative. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Adi Robertson The Verge It's hampered by its need for easy resolutions and horror set pieces, neither quite embracing nor escaping its genre roots. Audience Member É profundo, forte e perturbador. A realidade e tão cruel e aterrorizante e dark touch está aí para mostrar qu o mundo real pode ser mas aterrorizante que qualquer outra coisa fictícia. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This girl is a mix between Jean Grey and Carrie. She has a crazy ass level of telekinetic power that needs to be controlled. She isn't even aware that she's doing it and needs and adult to help her understand and how to use it. This movie is about child abuse and the traumas the abused child who has grown up will carry for as long as they live. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Half way interesting - actually I thought it was going to be but it got increasingly off the rails with the screeching and the not talking. The demon child is creepy, but inconsistently, and no one catches on that she's dangerous. I don't want to spoil the ending twist because if you get there you deserve to see it fresh but I promise it will make little sense: what she does, how she does it, and why? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I understand the message about child abuse. However, the circumstances were so outlandish that my disbelief was not suspended, the screaming was incessant, and there were many holes left unfilled. Such as, what was the connection with Nat's ears ringing? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was so bad that I had to create an acct just so I could write this. There were several occasions where I wondered if I'd blinked and missed a critical moment that would have explained the scene or character actions but no, it was legitimately nonsense. It was if children and their parents acted out a child's dream and put a movie together with an app. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a total cliche of a movie. It's just like Carrie except it's a younger girl who slowly realizes that she has supernatural powers, which she does not know how to control in the beginning. They're not exactly the same, but they use similar themes such as outcasts, sensitivity and revenge. Add to that that it's not scary and you're left wondering what's the point of this?
