Sangeetha Devi Dundoo The Hindu Srikanth Odela makes an assured directorial debut with the Telugu film, exploring caste politics in a mainstream format, backed by good performances from the cast led by Nani and Keerthy Suresh. Sep 12, 2023 Full Review Surya Komal Just for Movie Freaks Dasara is worth watching and showcased technical and performance brilliance at certain moments, but it lacked a crucial element – building emotion and drama. Relying heavily on slow-mo action scenes was not enough to carry the entire film. Rated: 3/5 Jul 26, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Dasara uses a lot of familiar techiques in over-the-top action movies about love triangles and vengeful family members. However, the acting performances are better than most movies in this genre. The movie's story also maintains suspense and intrigue. Apr 5, 2023 Full Review Haricharan Pudipeddi Hindustan Times While the Nani-starrer uses every trick in the book, it succeeds in sucking you into a world you haven’t experienced before. Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Prathyush Parasuraman Film Companion For all its fury, the film isn’t sure where to derive its emotional force from. Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Neeshita Nyayapati The Times of India Dasara is not the film that leaves you with a smile at the end of it all, it also doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Could it have been better? Sure. But Srikanth Odela and Nani make this slow burn work. So, credit where credit is due. Rated: 3/5 Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Vidhya Sagar Reddy Performance packed movie. Some downsides here and there, but good overall Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/01/23 Full Review Sandy Half baked. Raises expectations but never took off. Wafer thin storyline. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Suprateek A After waiting for nearly two years I finally watched Dasara. I watched Dasara in a single screen theatre amongst the die hard fans, if you know me that's how I like to watch mass commercial cinema. The experience of watching this film was pretty amazing something that I will remember forever. This film in my opinion balances both art and fan service, art as in the subtext as well as the commercial aspect of this film which I really enjoyed. This was a pretty unusual commercial film from TFI in my opinion because it was raw as hell and not one character looked clean which directors think is the only way a film can work, then the director took a great decision of showcasing Dharani's vulnerable side to us which helped form a sense of relatability with his character. Something that I really didn't expect was a good love story from this film which was so pure sweet and emotional and I really liked it. Coming to the performances all the three leads did a great job although it was Nani and Keerthy Suresh who stood out for me especially in the second half of the film. But unfortunately the rest of the supporting characters fail to provide a similar impact and the film could've been really really better if it had better supporting characters. The music by Santosh Narayanan was so good and the OST was just god level in my opinion especially the rap during the beginning of the film. The cinematography helped capture the dusty area in the most beautiful way possible, the staging and framing of few scenes were actually good and the director utilized close up shots to convey the emotions in a better way. Along with that the theme of love vs lust was handled really beautifully and there is a scene in the second half of the film where it was presented quite literally. The bar in the village was a great example of it and Silk Smitha had an unexpected presence in the film which I cannot explain how. Silk Smitha I think helped personify lust throughout the film. There was a lot of foreshadowing in the film and great usage of Chekhov's gun technique. Finally all I can say is that Dasara is a really well made commercial film which deserves to be seen in the theatres amongst a packed audience.
