Rick M As a retake of the classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still", I thought this film had some great moments, some superb acting at times, but fell way short of what it could have been, due mostly to some very bad WRITING and direction (and inconsistent thinking) that kept invading an otherwise great story. Overall, I liked it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Neil B Watched this mistakingly it was the Keannu Reeves film. So bad it had to be watched all the way through. Acting and effects are left lacking. Surprisingly I stayed awake Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Monsol E The plot got started by Judd Nelson being unable to stop pissing. Amazing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I caught this on a TV channel one afternoon, and actually ended up enjoying most of it. All right, so the budget is limited, and the basic mcguffin - prove the "value" of humanity or everyone dies - is a difficult thing to pull off well. But the cast and script do a decent job, there are some nice moments and some neat stunts. Bug Hill gives a convincing and considered exposition performance as the male alien, and C Thomas Howell pulls a nifty double work session as both lead and director. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member good low budget sci-fi actioner Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is so bad even the true critics have stayed away from it...Which is what all of us that actually sat through it should have done. (Spoiler Alert)...Bad guy runs up and jumps on the hood of an SUV and starts screaming get out of the car. You have the only working vehicle in this city...We watch bad guy jump in and drive away. Two seconds later we see a police car drive by in the background...Really only working vehicle in the city. The only decent thing about this movie is the Angelina Jolie looking alien. My recomendation would be to stay as far away from this crap as you can, unless you don't care about wasting 90 minutes of your life...
