Daylight Robbery

What to Know

Critics Consensus

This poorly executed brit crime caper wants to be a Guy Ritchie film, but ends up more like an extended Eastenders episode.

Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard This small-budget heist movie, though hardly very original, is at least made with complete professionalism. Rated: 3/5 Aug 29, 2008 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) Imagine a sort of Dog's Dinner Afternoon. Aug 29, 2008 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian Daylight Robbery has the away day, the-sun-shines-outside-of-Walford feel of an Enders special. All told, a bit of a Regi Blinker. Rated: 1/5 Aug 29, 2008 Full Review Matthew Turner ViewLondon While nicely acted and never less than watchable, Daylight Robbery is ultimately disappointing thanks to unsympathetic characters, some dodgy direction and a stifling lack of tension. Rated: 2/5 Aug 29, 2008 Full Review Josh Winning Total Film Tonally it stumbles between laddish laughs and straight thrills, with the result that Leonti doesn't quite get away with it. Rated: 3/5 Aug 29, 2008 Full Review Tim Evans Sky Cinema Tonally askew, comedically misjudged and drearily thuggish, this can be filed with any number of post-Lock, Stock caper comedies where psychopaths are portrayed as lovable geezers. Audience Member I thought that it was an excellent little thriller. Well acted and no unnecessary violence! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It began well then descended into farce. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Paris Leonti's debut feature film might not be original in any respect, but the director successfully takes a tried and true formula and makes it his own. Enhanced (not hindered) by its small budget, 'Daylight Robbery' is a consistently thrilling heist movie that provides some edge-of-the-seat tension, and could've benefited by more time devoted to fleshing out some of the characters. It is worth mentioning, however, that newcomer Robert Boulter (whose experience comes from some television work) steals the show. Unfairly annihilated by most critics, 'Daylight Robbery' is the perfect beer and pizza night movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Workable heist movie, but no real surprises in how they go about stealing the money. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Great bank robbery flick! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A promising idea is let down by weak storytelling in this well-played but lacklustre Brit crime thriller. Acting is bad, Direction is bad, Not much is very good. I say SKIP IT!!! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
