It's clear immediately that Dead Bang, written by Robert Foster and directed by John Frankenheimer, isn't looking to reinvent the wheel in terms of its narrative... Go to Full Review

A film that maybe could only be more absurd if Woody Allen played the Don Johnson role. Go to Full Review

John Frankenheimer was unhappy with the way the studio cut this one, but it remains a competent, watchable action-thriller. Most memorable for a scene where Don Johnson's hungover cop pukes on a suspect. Go to Full Review

01/09/2024 Such an underrated film. Johnsons charisma is off the chart here. But this film is well written. The action scenes and sequences are great. This is an underrated classic. See more Steve D 02/26/2023 Johnson makes this clunky action flick work just well enough. See more 02/12/2020 Fabulous movie. One of my all-time favorites. See more 03/27/2019 I love this movie, it had a real feeling of nothing to lose for the lead character. Of course there were parts that weren’t the best, but there are parts that are absolutely gratifyingly in your face. See more 09/08/2014 An under rated gem from Frankenheimer. Johnson is unbelievable in this and is in nearly every single scene. Forsythe is reliable as always and a text book twitch off Miller. My only critique would be Johnson's alcoholic cop who doesn't actually drink much throughout. See more 10/13/2013 I don't really understand the bad reputation this film has. It's a serviceable cop film. It's not an outstanding piece of work, and Frankenheimer has certainly done better (and worse) than this, but Johnson is really quite good as your standard maverick cop character and the plot is engaging. Any cop film where your hungover lead cop throws up on a suspect is at least worth a look ... it's more interesting than any of the "Lethal Weapon" sequels. See more Read all reviews
