Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …Deathdream is a fairly rough and ready low-budget horror in a Pet Sematary vibe, the kind of film where the angry subtext makes it of genuine historical interest… Rated: 3/5 Mar 28, 2023 Full Review Zena Dixon Real Queen of Horror Deathdream [is] definitely an overlooked gem that will appeal to horror fans from all different walks of life. Chris O One of the best, most underrated horror movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Scott G While the music is good, but the character Andy and his mother are just unlikable. You're going to feel really sorry for the father, Charles. Also, there is no explanation over how Andy is a vampire/zombie. Those are what ruin the film. The VHS cover of the dead soldier over the grave is better than the film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review GM It's very, very good. Very moving. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/25/22 Full Review Audience Member Scary, low budget movie, first movie to deal with the trauma and adjustment of coming back home. The reality Andy was resurrected due to Andy's mom denial her son was dead. And like war, so many lives lost. To me the most shocking is Andy killing the dog. Even though the horror elements were a little over the top, Andy's father committing suicide when he couldn't handle the atrocities anymore, Mom still helps her decaying son, driving him to the cemetery as Andy crawls into his grave and dies. Very dramatic and sad. Not bad. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Creepy little film. It has a Roger Corman horror feel to it, though quite serious in its social commentary. Worth seeing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review andrew t Very dark, but original and brilliant.
