Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The story, the return to war and its consequences, the way the story is brought to the screen are why this film has stood the test of time and this is one of those that still has a lot to say 50 years later. Rated: 4/5 May 29, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy More interesting in theory than in practice. Rated: 2.5/4 May 27, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …Deathdream is a fairly rough and ready low-budget horror in a Pet Sematary vibe, the kind of film where the angry subtext makes it of genuine historical interest… Rated: 3/5 Mar 28, 2023 Full Review Zena Dixon Real Queen of Horror Deathdream [is] definitely an overlooked gem that will appeal to horror fans from all different walks of life. Audience Member Creepy and distressing, Deathdream examines Vietnam PTSD that still bares relevance today. War is horrifying and I have no doubt that many veterans returned from combat feeling dead inside after the hellish events they endured. An incredibly important tale told in a very chilling manner. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/06/24 Full Review Jonathan O Deathdream aka Dead of Night is unbelievable powerful zombie drama horror film is so creepy and scary and really strong performance by two nominated actors and really remarkable make-up effects artist by Vietnam Veteran Tom Savini and really bone chilling musical score by Carl Zitter. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/30/24 Full Review B P A Waking Nightmare of War. Deathdream is as thought-provoking as it is chilling, and Clark dutifully toes the line between grindhouse ghoulishness and presenting a parable for real-world issues. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Chris O One of the best, most underrated horror movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Scott G While the music is good, but the character Andy and his mother are just unlikable. You're going to feel really sorry for the father, Charles. Also, there is no explanation over how Andy is a vampire/zombie. Those are what ruin the film. The VHS cover of the dead soldier over the grave is better than the film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review GM It's very, very good. Very moving. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/25/22 Full Review Read all reviews
