Creepy and distressing, Deathdream examines Vietnam PTSD that still bares relevance today. War is horrifying and I have no doubt that many veterans returned from combat feeling dead inside after the hellish events they endured. An incredibly important tale told in a very chilling manner.

Deathdream aka Dead of Night is unbelievable powerful zombie drama horror film is so creepy and scary and really strong performance by two nominated actors and really remarkable make-up effects artist by Vietnam Veteran Tom Savini and really bone chilling musical score by Carl Zitter.

While the music is good, but the character Andy and his mother are just unlikable. You're going to feel really sorry for the father, Charles. Also, there is no explanation over how Andy is a vampire/zombie. Those are what ruin the film. The VHS cover of the dead soldier over the grave is better than the film.
