Their last episode is a total fiasco, and the director sends them to the countryside of Mexico with the advisor Abril (Martha Higareda) and the drugged special effects technician Bob (Mark Riley) to investigate the most haunted house in Mexico. Lloyd is the only in the group that believes in ghost but is diminished by his brother and mainly the skeptical Javier. Bob prepares several special effects but soon the team finds that the house is really haunted, and they are trapped inside. Now they need to find a way to leave the house and flee from an evil spirit. “Deadtectives” (2018) is a hilarious comedy-horror film by Tony West. It is one of those films that the viewer feels lighter and happier after watching it. Tony West is capable of balancing humor and horror in right doses and taking good performances of the cast. Maybe José María de Tavira in the role of Javier is the funniest character, but everybody has great performances. My vote is seven. So I thought I'd give it another shot. And wow, this time I couldn't get past the first 10. Will give it another few years and try again. EDIT: So I finally saw this movie. I saw Martha Higareda in another movie, and she's so smokin' hot, I had to see her in something else. Unfortunately, this was thay something else. The first 10 minutes I saw years ago didn't do this movie any justice. It's way, way worse. A steaming pile of dung that stinks to the moon. My next stop on the Martha train is Borderland.
