Surprised me with a fresh take on what had become a stale genre. So much fun and a very funny cast with some very underrated technical skills. It's fast paced and lands its jokes and scares deftly while keeping us engrossed with the characters. Really, really liked it.

I'm thinking this small budget movie influenced "The Cleansing Hour" which came out the following year. At first the characters were almost irredeemable but when the real ghosts start to show up, they get better. There's a twist at the end I didn't see coming, mainly because it's kind of odd. Not bad enough to spoil or ruins the movie. Just odd. At the end of the day, what starts off as pretty bad comes around and pulls it ass out of the fire to be pretty good. You just need to put up with a pretty bad first act.

It's a horror comedy, but both elements are hit and miss. Sometimes it's chuckle worthy, maybe even a little charming. Best described as the darkest scooby doo episode you've ever seen.
