2020: A year so [insert adjective of choice here], even the creators of Black Mirror couldn't make it up... but that doesn't mean they don't have a little something to add. Death to 2020 is a comedy event that tells the story of the dreadful year that was -- and perhaps still is? This landmark documentary-style special weaves together some of the world's most (fictitious) renowned voices with real-life archival footage spanning the past 12 months.

Death to 2020 is ultimately just more of the same painfully humorless noise that's made up most of the year. Go to Full Review

Too often it wasn't quite clever enough to raise much more than a half-smile at this already listless moment in a miserably uncertain year. Go to Full Review

Brooker, once, would have satirised a show like this. A TV comedy creating its script out of other people's Twitter jokes? Now there's an episode of Black Mirror. Go to Full Review

Death to 2020 delivers a humorous yet honest look at the year that was. While it delivers its content in the tone of a joke, it never belittles the problems that rocked the year that was, or that will continue to face us in this year... Go to Full Review

.... Deadpan, cynical, wickedly funny look at the year from Hell. Go to Full Review

Nov 27 Might be the unfunniest thing I have ever watched. I watched it in class but I would've rather done schoolwork. Feels like a parody of itself, a mockery of millennial ((Hollywood)) humour. Absolutely revolting and damaging to the soul. The state of modern art is truly enough to crush the Yamnayan spirit. See more Tone B 07/25/2024 Some perfectly timed and observed humour from the people that brought you Screenwipe and Newswipe, and a few more celebrity guests and new characters. Particularly enjoyed the characters played by Hugh Grant and Lisa Kudrow. See more michael f 01/23/2022 I made it somewhere between a third to half way through this mess before turning it off. This mockumentary made no attempt to hide its partisan views while attempting to gain laughs with jokes already beaten to death. Even the actors seemed disinterested and fell flat. See more 01/15/2022 Not the best, but worth a watch if you have Netflix See more 01/13/2022 Mildly amusing and perfectly diverting exercise fodder which did manage to get some laughs from me, those coming out about equal with eyerolls in the end. The biggest takeaway for me while watching this is how skewed time has become as a lot of the events lampooned here did not feel like they happened over a year ago. 4.5/10 Samuel L. Jackson Binge: Jackson was definitely one of the funnier "characters" here, if not funniest, and has an excellent dry, deadpan delivery that works real well with satire and mockumentary. *SLJ January #7 See more 01/03/2022 Clever, witty topical satire. Was it balanced? I thought so, not everyone who watched with me agreed. Maybe that's one of the things that made it good. See more Read all reviews
