Justin T This is not a bad film but it's also unremarkable. The picture quality isn't great and it is dull to look at. It's quite a good horror movie. It was not scary enough to be amazing or memorable. The ending was a little confusing. You really got a good sense of how claustrophobic it was in those mazes that were the trenches but other than that it's really not that engaging. It never got boring however it was never hugely exciting. It was well made with high production value and some bits were exciting. Downside is that it was forgettable and not engaging enough. Don't watch if you suffer from claustrophobia. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Alonso S Entretenida, con una atmosfera claustrofobia e inquietamente, un buena película de suspenso. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review john p Mud, Mud, Mud and Blood, rain, rain, dismal, slow-burn, slow-death, alternate world war-microcosm of a psuedo-Purgatory aka pre-judgment mudbath with paranormal gore. That which doesn't kill you makes you scared as hell and you either freak out and murder folks or dry up and die inside. With all that said, this mid-budget morality play set in the parallel world mirroring the trenches of WWI -- has ?dead? ?NDE? soldiers face the horrors of what war does to the thin cord of humanity we like to think we all have within. What we see is death and hatred and evil that propels us from within also destroys us from without (especially via an otherworldly Agent of Wrath and Merciful Judgment) and how do we face the unexplained, the unexpected, the nightmares become real, as happens in this flick. I felt I was watching a Weird War comic book tale come alive like a Night Gallery episode but with more the gore and virulent visuals (rats need food too ;^) -- so though this flick dragged in spots and made me cry out inside, "Get on with it! Let's find out what's going on here!" -- I was not surprised when everything slid slickly and muddily into an "Aha . . ." revelation without a bang but a whimper -- and then it began all over like a bad dream reprise -- credits rolled. Not a great viewing but offbeat enough to keep you guessing and perplexed as to what was going on and how it would turn out. WEIRD STUFF! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member While living a real life nightmare, no mans land, WW2, 9 British soldiers already live in a state of constant paranoia but when they find themselves holding a trench behind enemy lines they slowly discover there are much more frightening things to be afraid of then Nazi's. With a strong cast of supporting characters - including a stellar performance from a young up & coming Andy Serkis - it's hard to believe this film passed the public by with poor reviews by some & unseen by most others. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome! Fast paced, gross, scary as hell! Top 5 scary videos on YouTube recommended, excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know why low rating and criticism. It's a Good movie. Good acting, re-creating a WW1 environment, costumes, well done. I find it to be a somewhat Lovecraftian movie. I really enjoyed this movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
