It's a shame this is what became of the "Subspecies" series. Go to Full Review

It's boring, it's dreary, it's derivative, and it's kind of a slap in the face to the horror hounds -- because the flick barely runs 65 minutes in length. Go to Full Review

10/04/2015 So, this is barely a movie. The first 12 minutes is a recap of "Vampire Journals" and opening credits. Then the last like six minutes are end credits... The movie is an hour 14 minutes in runtime, so the actual content of the movie is less than an hour. The cast is small: Evil Vampire Queen who is supposedly what happened to an unresolved character from "Vampire Journals"; Sugar, a sweet vampire with a big heart; Spice, a bit of a jerk but a good friend vampire; Dex, a DJ... Ivan a Vampire Hunter ... and a tiny doll thingy, Marvin. This film is more inline with Charles Band's work. Heck, it took him six days to film! Not abundantly terrible which is why it gets a middle of the road rating. Doesn't explore any interesting story territory though. A shame given there is promise in Sugar and Spice's friendship, Morella's backstory, and Sugar and Dex's relationship. My one take away is Phil Fondacaro who plays Ivan the Vampire Hunter may be channeling his "Bordello of Blood" character. I appreciate that sort of type casting. See more 04/01/2015 Dopey vampire flick offers no scares but a few intentional chuckles and one genuine surprise. Begins with a wholly unnecessary 4-minute backhistory of this particular vampire nest, although I guess they deserve some credit for trying to give their characters some footing, but what's with the little red homunculus dude named Marvin getting so much camera time? Knows not to overstay its welcome at a scant 67 minutes and doesn't take itself seriously, which are two reasons to prefer it over Twilight. See more 03/16/2014 A fairly bland vampire story with disgusting scenes and stupid characters. The plot is pretty typical and slow, though the run-time isn't too awful. It's gross, uninteresting, and overall unmemorable. See more dylan w 02/16/2014 The worst movie ever made, enough said. See more 02/01/2013 DECADENT EVIL opens with a lengthy recap of the events that occurred in VAMPIRE JOURNALS before shifting gears entirely, taking us from the Gothic backdrop of Eastern Europe into the sleazy strip clubs of modern Los Angeles. Here, we find that the evil vampire Morella has started a coven of her own using the club as a cover. As she nears her 10,000th victim, Morella grows closer to becoming the invincible Queen of the Vampires! DECADENT EVIL is a far cry from the glory days of the SUBSPECIES series, as Ted Nicolaou's moody sense of style and atmosphere are both sorely missed in light of Charles Band's drier approach to the material. The majority of the characters are blatantly overacted, and there is no sensuality behind any of the gratuitous nudity, making it impossible to pass this off even in the softcore horror genre. Only Phil Fondacaro gets by with a decent performance as he takes on the role of Ivan the Vampire Hunter. Overall, a trite and cliche vampire picture in the same vein as BORDELLO OF BLOOD, minus the fun. -Carl Manes I Like Horror Movies See more 06/21/2012 I'd probably watch it again.
