03/21/2009 A nicely understated drama of love, will, independence, morals, and feminist/masculine stereotypes located in scenic Ireland with a thickly accented dialog. See more 03/14/2009 I can't exactly explain why I liked this movie so much. Part of it was trying to pick up the Irish-accented dialogue. It was cinema verite circa 1900 Ireland. The scenery was a character itself. I think a lot of the movie happened "off screen" and was very true to its novel adaptation I think for that reason. Definitely worth an hour-and-a-half.
