Scott Marks San Diego Reader You're bound to leave hungry. Rated: 4/5 May 23, 2016 Full Review Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail Anjou is not chintzy with the upbeat schmaltz - again with the bouncy klezmer music! - but his chatty story on the decline of the urban eatery's ubiquity is not just about chopped liver, but the loss of Jewish culture. Rated: 3/4 Jun 19, 2015 Full Review Bruce DeMara Toronto Star Heartfelt and heartwarming, Deli Man is documentary filmmaking at its tastiest. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 18, 2015 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse A delicious look at how delis have influenced not only what we eat, but why we eat it. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Much like that neighborhood deli that you've come to know and love. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 5, 2020 Full Review Sherilyn Connelly SF Weekly There are now fewer than 200 left n North America. Sure, it's not exactly at the top of the list of what's wrong with the world, but Deli Man makes a strong case that they're worth preserving. Aug 24, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This is a movie about Jewish delicatessens. it is that but it is more a story about joy in life. Common across the people whose lives are illustrated in this documentary is the the joy that they have in their businesses and their lives Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an interesting documentary about the history of the delicatessen in America. There is a story woven into the interviews about a third generation restauranteur in Houston. I really enjoyed "Ziggy's" story and his desire to preserve a past generation. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm itching for a pastrami sandwich Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A mouth-watering, heartwarming dive into the world of endangered Jewish delicatessens and the kitchen maestros cooking to keep the culinary tradition alive, one matzo ball at a time. A bonus for fellow Houstonians: Ziggy Gruber of Kenny and Ziggy's is the film's centerpiece. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Still bummed I did not eat at a NYC deli when I had the chance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this movie;well done Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
