Yes there are similarities but I think there is more than enough room in horror for both. The titular toys torment a lady cop, a baddy, a delivery boy, and a teen runaway who are locked in a warehouse. The Chicago metal band Joker plays as the delivery boy takes chicken to the security guy. A bad daemon-spirt disguised as a boy controls the toys which bite, claw, and even shoot the captive humans. A Charles Brand film, this is definitely above average for Full Moon fare, though it does meander and get boring toward the end (as most of theirs do). The grandmother giving away her ugly dead baby grandson for a Halloween treat was pretty funny and the air duct scenes were suspenseful. This was influenced by "Child's Play" even more than the "Puppet Master" series.
