Nick O'Brien is the hard-drinking leader of the Regulators, an elite unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Ray Merrimen is the recently paroled leader of the Outlaws, a gang of ex-military men who use their expertise and tactical skills to evade the law. O'Brien, Merrimen and their crews soon find themselves on a direct collision course as the criminals hatch an elaborate plan for a seemingly impossible heist -- the city's Federal Reserve Bank.

Den of Thieves desperately wants to be Heat or The Killer when it grows up. Instead it's a daft, distant, drunken cousin to those pictures, but if you studiously avoid thinking about it, you can at least enjoy its moronic antics.

The complete lack of likeable characters is a problem for a heist movie - in this struggle between violent criminals and corrupt cops, we don't particularly care who wins.

Good action movie. Gerad Butler plays a great character who has lost everything and might go about things not exactly how the book has it written, but very a smart detective none the less. Also great twist at the end.

Very disappointing. They are clearly ripping off Heat but terrible writing, just alpha bro on max obnoxiousness. Holes in the story you can drive a truck through. And the rip off of heat is so very obvious they could have called it a remake of that movie.
