Saffron Cassaday is at her wit's end after suffering from ulcerative colitis for nearly a decade. She decides to try a promising new treatment known as Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) -- the act of taking stool from a healthy donor and implanting it into the gut of a sick patient. From convincing her partner to be her donor (Who says chivalry is dead?), to turning their apartment into a makeshift production facility for what some are calling "brown gold," Saffron spares no details in her quest to uncover what some experts believe could be the biggest medical breakthrough of the 21st century.

Karen Gordon Original Cin Cassaday is excellent as both the director and subject of this light-hearted but informative documentary about one woman’s search for a treatment for an obnoxious, painful, difficult-to-manage chronic condition. Rated: B+ Nov 14, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Tal S This film is super-informative... and quite surprising. Gastrointestinal issues are no joke, and, if there are unconventional yet innovative and powerful ways of dealing with them, I really hope the research continues and that treatments start becoming more common. I had heard a bit about the concept before, but this film really discusses it in an approachable way. I highly recommend watching this film. The concept might at first seem a little strange... but, in the end, it actually makes a lot of sense! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review Lance A This documentary has it all…. So, good!!!! @SaffronCassaday had revitalized my love of documentaries. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/03/23 Full Review Marlo M So impressed by this documentary! Admire all the work everyone put into it. I was diagnosed with mod-severe UC at 22, am now 35. Saffron reminded me so much of myself. I have been on many medications/biologics to treat. I remember reading up on FMT years ago and actually wanted to be part of the McMaster Study, but distance deterred me. Honestly so thankful for all of the insight you have provided not only in the documentary but by your panels and social media posts. I am also a nurse in the IBD world, and am astonished at how many people deal with this disease. This documentary is a must see, it will open people's eyes, and promising to see where FMT goes in treating crohns and colitis. Thank you! 😊 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review J T Outstanding! Congratulations on a great job dealing with a sensitive subject with humor and fact. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Mel E This was a great, informative documentary. I appreciate that the filmmakers brought the topic of Fecal Transplants to the public awareness as it is a fascinating area which could have a big impact on a multitude of illnesses in the future. Dealt with an "icky" topic with humor and education. Well done to the filmakers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review WJT Great to hear a straight-forward discussion.
