Synopsis
When a landowner is killed, his seven laborers, including the foundling Lukas (Simon Schwarz), inherit his land. Yet this turn of luck for the once-oppressed workers isn't an easy transition. With no one to lead them, they struggle -- particularly when the other farmers in the valley turn against them, fearful of what this rise to power might mean among their own laborers. The peasants also fight with each other, as one woman, Emmy (Sophie Rois), tries to oppose the patriarchal society.
