Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Despite a welcome lack of Disneyfied sentimentality - no tears are solicited for banged-up young'uns - the film never acquires a rhythm. Rated: 2/5 Oct 25, 2012 Full Review Adam Lee Davies Little White Lies [A] well-meaning but listless compendium of unconnected prehistoric CG dino-vignettes that is as sure to bore children as it is to bemuse adults. Oct 24, 2012 Full Review Derek Adams Time Out Dull, meaningless and pretty frustrating film. Rated: 1/5 Oct 24, 2012 Full Review Edward Havens FilmJerk.com Plays like a series of cut-scenes from a 1997 PlayStation game. Rated: C Nov 5, 2012 Full Review Philip French Observer (UK) Dinotasia is narrated by Werner Herzog with his customary shock and awe. Oct 24, 2012 Full Review Simon Kinnear Total Film Werner Herzog's grandiose, unintentionally camp narration adds entertainment value, but there's zero educational sustenance in the film's servings of synthetic gore. Audience Member I think it got a really good grasp on dinosaurs, a movie I've watched several times- very great and recommend to people who like dinosaurs Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It's true, werner herzog made this dinosaur movie that has old video game animation. And you think, yay - the internet is crazy, I'm high let's subject ourselves to it. Then you ask the dark internet crabs for a copy and you finally get a stream and you laugh at first, but then you experience a series of relentless prehistoric fight scenes, where shit is super intense and there is no story and werner talks RARELY and says new age weird shit while the barrage of dinosaur violence continues making you a little anxious And so you're like WHEN'S IT GONNA STOP and then the stream does because as werner said "sometimes coincidence can be a strange kind of mercy" But it deserves more than 1 star because it is so cooked you should watch it anyway and see if your stream holds out aye Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member If youre looking for a flashy bit of fluff with anthropomorphised, talking dinosaurs, dont watch this. It was brutal, inventive, and made attempts to be accurate. People seem to want a plot. How could there be? Each vignette is separated by millions of years, and the subjects have very limited goals beyond survival and reproduction. If you want to see snapshots of creatures attempting to survive in an attempt at realism, check it out. If you want million-dollar effects and a plot, Jurrassic Park awaits. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Made it half way through before calling it quits. First of all, I HATE the robotic narration...I'm severely hearing impaired and that robotics crap just don't work with hearing aids. I couldn't make out half of what was said despite increasing volume and replaying some of the scenes multiple times. Secondly, this is not a documentary; documentaries are educational and this is nothing more than a very sad, heartbreaking bunch of "vignettes" based on someones sadistic idealizations about the very young. If it weren't so sad and depressing, it would be a good "cartoon", but nothing more. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed watching it and all the stories that they have given to the fossils Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the greatest, underrated movies of all time. Herzog at his finest. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
