Mise en place u 05/21/2023 I didn't expect to end up teary eyed. Even for someone who doesn't care much for high fashion, It was very inspiring seeing the faces of people working tirelessly, their passion and hard work. Oh my, the massive weight placed on the man at the top, to wear the shoes of the legend while also maintaining his own authenticity whilst ignoring the stereotype,wow! Christian would be so proud. I now have a great respect for brands and businesses in general where people pour out heart and vulnerability into their work. In some way it reminds me of the film boiling point. In 2011, Christian Dior fired John Galliano as its creative director, and replaced him with Raf Simons, a Dutch-speaking Belgian known for his minimalism. This documentary takes the viewer inside the development of Simons's first haute couture collection for Dior, and their first show in Paris to display the collection to the world. Quite an eye-opening and exciting exposition of the creative process in the fashion industry. Loved this documentary, and loved the dresses in Simons's first haute couture collection.
